A Christian pacifist in the American Empire

The posts listed below address in a personal way the problems with the American Empire from the point of view of a Christian pacifist. I ask the question, why are the obviously so unjust and self-defeating practices of the militarism of the American Empire so widely accepted by so many American people? Especially, why are these practices so widely accepted by so many American Christians? I address this question in these posts through theological memoir (reflecting on my own upbringing as an American in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s), biblical analysis (describing my own change of convictions and summarizing the core elements of peace theology), and historical retrieval (looking at some key manifestations of American warism with a critical, non-blindered perspective).
